Chill Out!

Frustrated about belly fat although you're eating right & exercising regularly? Yes that's right, whilst people may think that stress reduces appetite and subsequently leads to weight loss it actually has the adverse effect.  Without getting into the nitty gritty, stress actually releases a hormone called CORTISOL which leads to fat storage around the gut! so as well as diet and fitness stress is a contributing & important factor when watching weight.

We all have stress factors in our lives and undermine how much of a toll it can take. Speaking from experience as a lawyer and managing tight deadlines I have had to fight methods to manage stress! you can try one of the following tips which may reduce stress and more importantly that stress hormone named CORTISOL!;

1. EXERCISE/MEDITATE OR YOGA

Whether you find stomping on a treadmill or something gentler such as saying Omm in Yoga, doing something active to keep your mind focus and preoccupied works a treat!  I find a quick 20 minutes run on the treadmill or a 45 minute spin cycle class works the most in order to stomp out stress! Oh & be sure to switch the phone onto flight mode!

2. SLEEP

8 hours of shut eye is recommended to allow the body time to recover from daily stresses.  The difference between 8 hours and 6 is 50% more cortisol in the body! so sleep can actually help fight fat! ZzzzZZzz.  Sleep aids include candles and pillow mists.   Personally i love a few drops of Lavender oil or any Jasmin scented candle!

3. SIP TEA

Zone out & put the kettle on! Flavanoids and antioxidants in tea destress the mind and warm the soul! I recommend Kusmi BB Detox tea or Jing Tea Jasmine Pearls tea.  I also love green tea which I will write a more detailed post on in the future.

4. SPA

Visit your favourite spa or book in a massage. Take a friend with you and use the time to relax and embrace time out.

5. LAUGH

Last but not least laugh! it burns calories, tones your abs and wipes away those blues & ignore the negativity!

Hope these tips help and more information of recommended products will follow in detailed posts.

Stay positive, happy & healthy!
